The AREON 2022 Annual Conference is a professional conference where there is every expectation that attendees, sponsors, speakers, and staff conduct themselves in a manner that is respectful of each other. We want the conference to be a safe and productive environment for everyone. To that end, these guidelines spell out the behavior we support and don’t support at the conference.
Harrassment and Offensive Behavior
We don’t condone harassment or offensive behavior at our conference. We invite you to help us make each AREON conference a place that is welcoming and respectful to all participants, regardless of race, gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, national origin, ethnicity, or religion. So that everyone can focus on the conference itself, and the great networking and community richness that happens when we get together in person, we will not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form—in person or online.
We value the individuals, institutions, and companies who attend, participate in, and sponsor all AREON conferences. We ask that all attendees refrain from making derogatory, demeaning, or overly critical comments of anyone, especially any others attending the conference, including our sponsors who make the conference possible financially.
We expect all participants—attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers—to follow these guidelines during the conference. This includes conference-related social events at off-site locations, and in related online communities and social media. Participants asked to stop any harassing or disruptive behavior are expected to comply immediately. Conference participants violating these guidelines will be asked to leave the conference without a refund and/or banned from future AREON events, at the discretion of AREON.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of conference staff immediately, or contact AREON’s Executive Director, Robert Nordmark at email@example.com.
We thank our participants for your help in keeping the event welcoming, respectful, and friendly to all.
