Beginning at 10:00 AM CDT today, ARE-ON has gone live with the Indiana University GlobalNOC as ARE-ON's provider for its Network Operations Center help desk and monitoring functions. The GlobalNOC provides ARE-ON with a Tier 1 Help Desk through its dual network operations centers located in Indianapolis and Bloomington, IN. In addition, the GlobalNOC provides and supports a wide variety of network network monitoring and management tools that network engineers within ARE-ON and the GlobalNOC will be able to more proactively monitor the ARE-ON network and respond to issues that might cause service interruptions to ARE-ON’s members and customers.
ARE-ON is pleased to announce that it has been accepted as a member of The Quilt, which is the national coalition of advanced regional networks for research and education, representing near three dozen R&E networks across the country. Participants in The Quilt provide advanced network services and applications to over 200 universities and thousands of other educational institutions. Through its membership in The Quilt, ARE-ON adds its voice to the national community of our network peer organizations, as well as to participate in initiatives that provide real value to our member institutions.
